Sitamarhi : A Special Task Force (STF) team headed by Sadar SDPO R K Upadhyay busted a gang involved in collecting ‘Rangdari- tax’ (extortion amount) and killing of Hardware store owner Vijay Bhagwani on February 25, 2021, at Bariyarpur NH-77 Chowk, Sitamarhi, in North Bihar.
The STF team arrested Vivek Yadav and Bipin Kumar from village Jaynagar under Sonbarsa police station in Sitamarhi District on March 4, 2021, along with two countymade pistols, one live cartridge, seven mobile phone sets, 1 kg Charas, and a bike.
Sitamarhi SP Anil Kumar said that the arrested criminals have accepted their roles in the crime. Police are searching for their accomplices, the SP added. Already three criminals hae been arrested and jailed, added SP Anil Kumar. Police had been searching their hideout since February 27, 2021.
