Patna: Senior SP of Patna Manu Maharaaj on Tuesday revealed the answer-sheets of the toppers in Intermediate Arts and Science examinations were changed. Answers written by some experts were allegedly inserted in the answer-sheets of the toppers, he said.
Manu Maharaaj said there had been largescale irregularities and malpractices in the conduct of the examinations and publications of the results. While the answer- heets of the examinees of other centres in Vaishali district were sent to Ara and Bhabhua for evaluation,those of Vishun Rai College, Bhagwanpur, Vaishali, were sent to government girls college, Rajedra Nagar, centre.
Teams of Patna police have been sent to Bhabhua and Ara also in addition to Vaishali, Maharaj said. A team of officials visited the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) and questioned its chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh. Police also seized a hard disc of a computer containing examination results for investigation. Examination centre superintendent and evaluation centre superintendent are also being questioned.
Director of secondary education Rajiv Ranjan had filed a ten page FIR against seven people with Kotwali police station after midnight on Monday. Those named in the FIR include the three toppers in Science and one in Arts , Director of the college, examinattion and evaluation centre superintendents. Investigation may lead to inclusion of other names too. Police sources said some arrests may take place on Tuesday itself to facilitate further investigation.
