Patna: RJD president Lalu Prasad on Tuesday again raised the reservation controversy and alleged the RSS backed NDA government was planning to scrap reservation for the OBCs in university jobs. Talking to mediapersons here, Lalu said on June 3, the UGC issued a circular asking central universities to do away with reservations for OBC teachers in promotion and recruitment as associate professors and above. He feared the scheme may be expanded further to deprive the teachers of SCs and STs and later to cover other universities in the country. Lalu said, ” Rservation is our birthright” and BJP would not be allowed to withdraw reservation. He recalled the statement of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat during the 2015 Bihar assembly elections in which he had called for review of reservations and now the NDA s government was moving in that direction.
