Police arrest three for thrashing youth to death at W Champaran village

Bettiah : Police on September 20, 2017, arrested three persons Shukla Yadav, Bharat Yadav and Janak Yadav of village Basantpur under Shathi police station in West Champaran district for thrashing Mukesh Sharma, 22, son of Janak Sharma of village Satawaria to death.

Mukesh Sharma of village Satawaria under Sathi police station under Narakatiaganj Sub- division in West Champaran was assaulted at the house of his girlfriend of village Basantpur on late September 19 night and was admitted to Primary Health Centre (PHC), Chanpatia, where he died during treatment on September 20 morning.

Police sources said that deceased Mukesh Sharma was in love with a village girl, who was later married to the son of Shukla yadav of village Basantpur. But, Mukesh still used to meet her at her in- laws’ house in the absence of her husband. On September 19 night, Mukesh was caught meeting the girl by her in- laws, who started beating him mercilessly. Hearing the screams of Mukesh, the villagers reached Shukla Yadav’s house. A seriously injured Mukesh was admitted to the PHC, Chanpatia, by Shathi police station team but he died there during the treatment.

SHO, Shathi police station, Awadesh Kumar Jha said that three persons:  Shukla Yadav, Bharat Yadav and Janak Yadav, who were allegedly involved in the killing of Mukesh, had been arrested.
