Patna: A Patna police team late on December 7 night raided a hotel close under Sachivalaya police station and arrested nine persons from there under `Operation Vishwas’ launched by police to implement prohibition. Police said that during night patrolling, Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj received information that gangster Santosh Kumar had organized a liquor party at a hotel close to Eco Park. He immediately informed Sachivalaya ps SHO directing him to conduct a raid at the hotel.

A police team led by Sachivalaya ps SHO reached there and found some people escaping from there  seeing the cops. Police arrested nine persons from there and seized two half empty bottles and two full bottles of English liquor from there. Police also seized Rs 7,400 cash from the possession of the arrested persons.

Senior SP (SSP) Maharaaj said during investigation, the cops came to know that Santosh was recently sent to jail in Gaya for possessing 640 bottles of English liquor. He said that Santosh was recently released from jail and again got involved in this trade. Police said that the arrested persons had been identified as Lallu Kumar, Rahul Kumar, Santosh Sah, Santosh Kumar, Upendra Kumar alias Chotu , Sanjay Yadav, Ravi Kumar alias Rakesh Kumar, Kundan Kumar and Ravi Kumar, all from Patna. Police also seized a bike from there.
