Patna: A Patna Police team late on  December 7 night arrested four associates of notorious gangster and liquor supplier Guddu Kumar from a hut near Pawan petrol pump close to Mahatma Gandhi Setu under Agamkuan police station, Patna, under `Operation Vishwas’ launched by the police to check manufacture and sale of liquor across the district.

Police said that during night patrolling, Patna Senior SP (SSP) Manu Maharaaj received information that some associates of Guddu Kumar were waiting near a petrol pump with liquor and arms. He directed Agamkuan ps SHO to carry out a raid on the spot and arrest the criminals. A police team led by Agamkuan ps SHO reached there and found some people fleeing from there after seeing the cops. The policemen chased them and arrested four persons from there. Acting on the revelations made by the arrested persons, a police team raided the house of  gangster Guddu Kumar and seized Rs 2.85 lakh cash from there.

Senior SP (SSP) Manu Maharasj on December 8 said that the police are collecting information about the criminal background of the arrested persons. He said that raids were on to arrest Guddu. The SSP said that the arrested criminals have been identified as Ramchandra Prasad ( a native of village Indore under Hilsa ps in Nalanda), Kanchan Kumar (a native of village Dosut under Bena ps in Nalanda), Shravan Kumar (a native of Sikarpur under Sonepur ps in Saran), and Pramod Kumar ( a native of Choti Pahari under Agamkuan ps, Patna. He said that police seized 60 bottles of liquor and Rs. 2.85 lakh cash.
