Ara : Bhojpur police, on a tip off, conducted raids at village Belauti under Shahpur police station in the wee hour on September 23, 2019, and arrested Saroj Tiwari alias Saroj Tripathi, son of Triloki Tiwari, in connection with a double murder case. Buxar police had announced a reward of Rs 5,000 on his head and were conducting raids to arrest him for the last four years.
ASP (Operations), Bhojpur, Nitin Kumar, said that two persons were killed in an area under Bhrampur police station in Buxar in 2015 in which 16 persons were made named accused of which 14 were awarded punishment. Only Saroj Tiwari and Kuber Mishra were absconding. He said that police got information that Saroj Tiwari and Kuber Mishra had taken shelter at village Belauti village under Shahpur police station and so a police team led by him and SDPO, Jagdishpur, Shyam Kishore Ranjan, conducted raids in the wee hour on September 23, 2019, and arrested Saroj Tiwari though Kuber Mishra gave a slip to cops. Later, the arrested person was handed over to Buxar police.
