Buxar : Buxar police with the help of their Saran counterpart on January 2 arrested one of the five inmates of Buxar Central Jail who had escaped around December 30, 2016, midnight. He is likely to  be brought back to Buxar on January 3 evening.

Buxar SP Upendra Prasad Sharma said that the mobile tower indicated that Devdhari Rai of Chhapra had taken shelter somewhere in Saran. He immediately sent a police team there. Police team conducted raid at a private clinic under Chhapra Muffassil police station and arrested Devdhari Rai.

Rai was getting himself treated at the private clinic. The SP said that during his escape from the Buxar Central Jail, he hurt himself and sustained injuries on his hand and head. The SP said that he would be able to give detail after the police interrogated Rai once he returns to Buxar. Twentythree more police personnel deputed to 00oBuxar urnsCentral nceJail have been suspended  for dereliction of duty but the SP has not confirmed the  news so far.

Five convicts had escaped from jail around midnight on December 30, 2016. The Jail authorities came to know about it in the wee hour on December 31, 2016. Three warders of the Buxar Central Jail were suspended for dereliction of duty. The inmates who escaped from the jail were identified as Sonu Pandey of Ara, Upendra Sah of Chhapra, Devdhari Rai of Chhapra, Pradeep Singh of Motihari and Sonu Singh of Brahmpur in Buxar. Pradeep Singh of Motihari was awarded capital punishment while the rest four were undergoing rigorous life imprisonment.

Bixar SP Upendra Prasad Sharma said that all the five inmates of the Buxar Central Jail were admitted to the Medical Ward of the jail as they had feigned illness.
