Ara : Police arrested Akhilesh Kumar Yadav near Mahavir Tola locality under Nawada police station, Ara, on September 10, 2018, evening, in connection with firing at the gate of Ara jail on June 8, 2018. Police also took four persons under custody to quiz them in this connection.
SDPO, Ara, Pankaj Kumar, said that police had information that an absconder Monu Kumar Yadav was seen in the lane beside Sarita Medical Hall, Mahavir Tola, under Nawada police station. Police conducted raids in the area but Monu Kumar Yadav managed to escape.The SDPO said that during raid a miscreant, Akhilesh Kumar Yadav, who was wanted in connection with firing at the gate of Ara jail on June 8, was arrested. He said that Akhilesh Kumar Yadav is a friend of Monu Kumar Yadav and added that after interrogation, he was sent to jail.
Earlier, Monu Kumar Yadav, a resident of Maulabagh under Ara town police station and son of a CRPF Havildar, had given a slip to police but his aide Golu Yadav was arrested with firearms.
The SDPO said that Monu Kumar Yadav came into limelight after he had shot at and injured Chandan Singh, son of a Cinema Hall owner, at Badi Mathia under Nawada police station on March 9, 2017. He along with Akhilesh Kumar Yadav had fired at several places in Ara to terrorise the people.
