Ara : A married woman Aradhana Devi escaped with cash and jewellery from her house in Chandawa locality under Nawada police station, Ara, in Bhojpur district, on September 11, 2018. When her husband protested, she dragged and abused him. A named FIR has been lodged with Nawada police station in this connection against Aradhana Devi, her father, and maternal uncle, on the statement of her husband Arbind Kumar Ranjan, a teacher.

SHO, Nawada police station, Subodh Kumar said that Arbind Kumar Ranjan is a resident of village Selas under Kochas police station in Rohtas district and is posted at Yadav Vidyapeeth as teacher. He lives in a rented house near a petrol pump in Chandawa locality under Nawada police station.

Quoting the FIR, the SHO said that after coming from morning walk, Arbind Kumar Ranjan saw that his wife Aradhana Devi, her father Heera Lal, and her maternal uncle were packing all the costly valuables and when he objected to it, all the three abused and pushed him aside and went out of the house taking with them all the costly items including Laptop, Jewellery, and Rs 40,000 cash.

The relation between the couple was reportedly not good and Aradhna Devi had filed a case in the court in Lucknow against her husband regarding domestic violence and Arbind Kumar Ranjan had gone to Lucknow on September 2, 2018, to appear before the court but later the couple had returned to Ara. Aradhna’s family earlied lived at Lucknow.
