Buxar : Police, on a tip off, conducted raid and seized 200 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from a mini truck and also arrested two liquor smugglers : Binod Sah, son of Dular Sah, and Bhola Chaudhary, son of Ajit Chaudhary of Ataw village, near Tedhaki Pulia on Bhojpur-Bikramganj main road in Buxar district in the wee hour on March 15, 2019.
A named FIR was lodged with Dumraon police station under the Prohibition & New Excise Act in this connection while the arrested liquor smugglers were sent to jail after interrogation.
SHO, Dumraoo police station, Shiv Narayan Ram said that he got information that a big consignment of IMFL was to pass through his police station area and so he immediately launched vehicle checking drive. During checking of vehicles, police intercepted a mini truck loaded with onion.When the mini truck was searched, 200 bottles of IMFL were recovered. The SHO said that the arrested persons were involved in liquor smuggling for several years and had been jailed several times.
