Ara : Hundreds of residents of Piro blocked Piro-Bihia road near village Dev Chanda on Julu 28, 2019, morning in protest against the dilly-dallying attitude of the officials of South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL) to change the transformer.
The protesters burnt tyres on road and also paralysed movement of vehicles for about four hours and also raised slogans against the officials of the SBPDCL but no official of Bhojpur district administration bother to talk to them or remove the blockade. Later, officials of the SBPDCL had a talk with the protesters during which they promised to change the transformer by July 29, 2019.
The protesters said that the transformer had developed some snags affecting power supply for about two months during the sultry summer. They had complained to the officials of the SBPDCL several times but to no avail.
