Patna : World No 16 and 4th seed Nikoloz Basilashvili, 27, Georgia, beat World No 78 Andrey Rublev, 21, Russia, in a three-set thriller in the final on July 28, 2019, to retain his Hamburg European Open, an ATP 500 points event,  title at Hamburg, Germany.

Basilashvili beat Rublev 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 in 2 hr7 minutes in the final to win the singles title. Basilashvili had won the Hamburg Europen Open title in 2018 as qualifier.

The Georgian won 4 break points in the match to 3 by the Russian. Both the players won 3 games each in a row in the match. Rublev though won 64 service points to 64 by the Georgian. The Russian fired 5 Aces in the match to 3 by Basilashvili.
