People thrash 2 criminals after they loot cash from woman in Saharsa

Saharsa : Two bike borne criminals Dip Yadav, 19, and Jai Yadav, 20, were caught and thrashed by the people on July 18, 2017, when they were escaping after looting Rs 24,000 from Kaili Devi, wife of Gulab Yadav of village Rampur under Saur Bazaar police station, near cattle market, Simribakhtiarpur, in Saharsa district,  when she was waiting for an auto to return home.

Kaili Devi, who hails from Simribakhtiarpur, had drawn the cash from Ranibagh Bazaar branch of Punjab National Bank (PNB) under Bakhtiarpur police station. The two criminals were caught by the locals when their bike slipped on the road.

Simribakhtiarpur police station SHO Umashankar Kamat and SI Rajendra Singh reached the cattle market after hearing about the incident and tried to take the two criminals under police custody. Although Kamat sustained minor injury in the process but police succeeded in arresting the two criminals and left for the police station after putting them in an auto. One of the criminals got down from the auto and tried to escape but was caught by a constables. The two criminals were taken to Sub-divisional hospital, Simribakhtiarpur, for treatment and then brought over to the police station.

The SHO said that the two arrested criminals were involved in several recent incidents of loot under Simribakhtiarpur police station and had crated panic among the people. They are being interrogated, he said adding both of them are notorious criminals and belong to Rautara police station area in Katihar district.
