New Delhi : The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare administers a centrally sponsored scheme for establishment of new Medical Colleges attached with existing district/referral hospitals. Fiftyeight districts in 20 States/UT have been identified under this scheme for establishment of new Medical Colleges with existing district/referral hospitals.
They include three in Bihar in Purnia, Saran and Samastipur districts. Four Medical Colleges would be established in Assam, three in Jharkhand in Dumka, Palamu and Hazaribagh districts, five in J&K, seven each in MP and Rajasthan and five each in Odisha, West Bengal and UP, according to a PIB release.
