Patna : Aghast with garbage dumping in their areas and encroachments on both sides of the railway track, a section of residents of New Patliputra Colony, Indrapuri, Shivpuri, Maheshnagar, Punaichak and Rajivnagar have requested the Commissioner, Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC), to take immediate steps to remove encroachments and heap of garbage from these colonies spread over more han 8 km.

They have also drawn the attention of Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Limited authorities  towards the alleged power theft in slum areas. They have also maintained that the open drainage system filled up with garbage and household waste overflows during monsoon. The heap of garbage is also polluting the air, they claim.

The residents of these colonies have also drawn the attention of PMO, Bihar Governor, Chief Minister, Patna DM, Principal Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department, Bihar government, and GM, East Central Railway, Hajipur,  towards this and sought immediate direction to the local authorities concerned in this regard.
