Bagaha : The parents of Awadhesh Pasi had to carry his body from Sub-Divisional Hospital, Bagaha, to home on motorbike on November 12, 2018, after the hospital authorities could not make them available an ambulance despite repeated requests.

Sources said that Awadhesh Rai, a resident of Nayagaon-Rampur and son of Shankar Pasi, was returning home on his bike after purchasing Chhath Puja items, but was seriously injured after his bike had a head on collision with a sugarcane laden trolley near the village. His family members rushed him to the Sub-Divisional Hospital, Bagaha, where he died during the treatment.

His parents had demanded an ambulance or any other vehicle to carry the body to their house. But, the hospital authorities allegedly did not respond to their repeated requests, sources added. Ultimately, they had to carry the body on a bike even as the government has issued instructions to the hospitals to provide vehicle under such circumstances.
