Pakistan beat SL by 263 runs in 2nd test, Abdi Ali Player of The Series

Patna : Pakistan crushed Sri Lanka (SL) by 263 runs in the 2nd test on the fifth and final day of the match at National Stadium, Karachi, Pakistan, on December 23, 2019, to win the two-match series 1-0. Set a target of 476 runs, SL, who had scored 271 runs in their first innings, were all out for 212 in their second innings in the first session of the play on Day 5. Pakistan had scored 191 in their first innings and declared their second innings at 555/3 with four batsmen hitting tons. Pakistan has won a test match after 12 months.

SL lost their last four wickets at 212 three of them on Day 5. SL opener Oshada Fernando remained unbeaten on 102, his maiden test century. Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah, 16, took 5/31 in 12.5 overs while spinner Yasir Shah took 2/84 in 20 overs. Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Abbas, and Haris Sohail took one wicket each.

Pakistan opener Abid Ali, 32, was declared both Player of the Match and Player of the Series. Abid Ali scored century in both the tests on debut. He scored 174 in 2nd test.
