Aurangabad: Over a dozen people including few women sustained serious injury in a clash between two communities during a Taziya procession at Jogiya market under Barun police station in Aurangabad district on Thursday. The injured are undergoing treatment at Aurangabad sadar hospital. M Kanwal Tanuj and SP Satyaprakash rushed to spot with heavy security cover.
According to reports, heated exchange took place between the members two communities in the name of playing gadaka game during the procession which soon turned violent. Heavy stone pelting took place in which over a dozen locals sustained injury. Sensing the gravity of situation DM, SP, SDM (sadar) SDPO (sadar) Head quarter DSP are camping on the spot to normalize the situation.
Talking to mediapersons, DM Tanuj said that efforts were on to indentify the trouble makers and stern legal action would be taken against them. He said that over a dozen persons have been booked so far. “We are in close contact with senior citizen of both communities and the situation would return o normal very soon,” the DM said.
