Patna: Madhepura police have arrested 38 people in connection with clash between two groups of people at Bihariganj on October 12. Due to tension between rival groups of people, prohibitory orders were imposed in the sub-divisional town on October 12. Police filed cases against 54 identified and 1,000 unidentified persons in connection with the violent incidents in the town.
DM of Madhepura Mohammad Suhail had called a meeting of both the communities and set up peace committees in  different localities. Extra force was sent from Patna to control the situation, additional DG of police(headquarters)Sunil Kumar said here on Thursday.
Meanwhile, a city ride bus was set on fire by an agitated mob at Ara on Thursday morning. In another development at Bhojpur, IG of Patna zone, Naiyyar  Mohammad Husnain, suspended two sub-inspector of police of Koelwar police station for performing obscene dance on police station premises during Durga Puja festival. They were seen dancing with bar girls .Those suspended include Sanjay Kumar, officer-incharge, and Shivshankar Singh,a sub-inspector of police.
