Patna: Over 500 files of the Animal and fisheries resources department of Bihar government at New secretariat ( Vikas Bhavan) have been found missing. Department’s minister Awadesh Kumar Singh, however, clarified none of them were related to fodder scam.

Singh said the department’s section head infomred about the files missing from three almirahs on April 25 .The almirahs were found broken,he said and added department informed the Kotwali police on April 30 about the missing files. According to the minister, the files related to pending cases in High Court. No file of the fodder scam was missing as they had already been taken by the CBI .

Meanwhile, a team of CBI officials is expected here on Thursday from New Delhi to inquire about the missing files.

Amrendra Kumar Jha, Inspector, Kotwali police station, said the FIR was registered on May 16 and investigation is on. It is, however, surprising why the FIR was filed so late.

In the 90s, over Rs 950 crore fodder scam was detected by CBI and two former chief ministers: -Lalu Prasad and Jagannath Mishra, and a dozen IAS officers were prosecuted in this connection .
