Patna: The two-day online entrance test for admission to different undergraduate and post-graduation courses of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) for the academic session 2016-17 concluded on Sunday. More than 5,000 boys and girls took the test at 25 centres located in different cities in the country including Patna and Gaya.

CUSB has this year decided to display on its website the answer- sheets of all the candidates who took the online test for admission to different undergraduate and post-graduate courses on Saturday and Sunday.

CUSB controller of examinations Pranab Kumar Sarkar said that the decision to display the candidates’ answer -sheets has been taken to ensure transparency in the admission process and fair result of the test. Candidates can check their performance thoroughly and share the grievances, if any, with the university authorities within the stipulated time period before the publication of the entrance test results, said Sarkar.

CUSB public relations officer Md Mudassir Alam said that more than 5,000 students from across the country had applied for admission to altogether 810 seats in different courses. The tests were held in three different slots each day for different courses. The results of online test is likely to be announced on CUSB’s official website by the second week of June. The entire admission process along with other formalities shall be completed in June itself.

The university had invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to altogether 38 academic programmes, including four undergraduate, 18 post-graduate and 16 Ph D programmes. The undergraduate programmes are four-year integrated BA BEd, BSc BEd and five-year integrated BA LLB (Hons) , and B Voc (arts and crafts). The post-graduate and Ph D programmes include bioinformatics, biotechnology, life science, environmental science, education, psychology, English, Hindi, law, communication and media studies, computer science (both MSc & MTech), mathematics, statistics, development studies, economics, political science and international relations and sociology. From the current year, the university has waived entrance test for NET-qualified candidates seeking admission to the Ph D programme, said Alam.
