Kedia flanked by SPs of East and West Champaran

Motihari : Kidnapped Nepal business magnate Suresh Kedia was recovered from a house at village Jasaulipatti under Kotwa police station in East Champaran district of Bihar on Sunday. He is brother of Vimal Kedia, MP and leader of Sadbhawana Party of Nepal. He was recovered by a joint team of East Champaran, West  Champaran, Bihar, and Bara police of Nepal. West Champaran SP Vinay Kumar and East Champaran SP Jitendra Rana headed the search team.

Business tycoon Suresh Kedia was kidnapped by unidentified criminals on May 26 at Baghaban on Kaleya- Birgunj road in Bara district of Nepal. The kidnappers moving on a Scorpio abducted Kedia after firing at his  driver and sped away towards Adapur in East Champaran district. According to police sources, the SUV used for kidnapping Kedia was bearing Indian registration number.
East Champaran SP Jitendra Rana confirmed that Kedia had been recovered from Kotawa and the SUV which was used for kidnapping him had also been recovered. One of the kidnappers was also arrested from the spot, Rana said.  West Champaran SP Vinay Kumar said that a cellphone and arms were also recovered from the possession of the arrested kidnapper .
Rana did not disclose the place and house from where Kedia was recovered on the ground that the  investigation was still on and raids were being conducted to nab the remaining is  kidnappers. But, police sources said that Bablu Dubey, a notorious criminal of East Champaran and a native of village Siswa-Khar  under Kalyanpur police station near Kotawa in the district who is a close associate of another notorious criminal Santosh Jha, was allegedly involved in kidnapping Kedia. Bablu Dubey is lodged in Buxar jail while
Santosh Jha is lodged in Ranchi jail.  According to an eyewitness, abducted Kedia was recovered from the house of a relative of Santosh Jha.

Bablu Dubey, accused in dozen of cases of kidnapping, loot, murder and extortion, had taken shelter in Nepal
due to police pressure and was arrested in Kathmandu in 2013 by a special team of East Champaran police. He had unleashed terror in Nepal with his associates at that time and according to Nepal police more than one dozen businessmen were kidnapped by him. Over a dozen new criminals of Raxaul are collecting extortion from Birgunj traders in his name, said the Birgunj police.
IG, Nepal, Kedar Shah, who was monitoring this abduction case, said, ” We co-ordinated with
Bihar police because we had inputs that Bihar criminals were  involved in kidnapping Kedia with help from  Nepali criminals and it was found true.” Bihar CM Nitish Kumar had directed the DGP of Bihar and SPs of
East and West Champaran district to intensify search operation for recovery of Kedia. The joint police team
conducted raids at more than 8 places, arrested 7 persons and  quizzed them that led to the recovery of abducted Kedia. Kedia was handed over to  the Birgunj police at Raxaul  on Sunday  evening.
