ECR observing `Rail Humsafar Week’

Patna : East Central Railway ( ECR ), Hajipur,  is observing ‘ Rail Humsafar Week ‘  in all its five divisions from May 26 to June 1 , 2016,  to mark completion of two years of the Modi  government  at the Centre . Railways has chalked out a comprehensive  plan to observe the week  focusing more on cleanliness, safety, punctuality  and  amenities to passengers  ither on running trains or on railway platforms.

According to  ECR CPRO  Arvind  Rajak , the zone observed May 26  as the day of maintaining cleanliness while May 27 was observed as ‘ Satkar Diwas ‘ .  It observed May 28 as ‘ Sewa Diwas ‘  giving a patient hearing to passengers’ problems . Out of  947 complaints  that came before the railway officials of the five divisions , about 688 were solved on the spot , he said adding as  many as 154 railway officials of different divisions   travellewd in about 218 trains to get the first hand feel about passengers’ problems on the running trains.

Railways observed  Sunday as ‘safety and punctuality’ day in all its five divisions .    ECR GM   A K Mittal personally  inspected Danapur station and supervised ticket checking drive at the station . Danapur DRM R K Jha  travelled  up to Patna Junction and  observed ticket checking drive there, Rajak said. He said  railway  officials  will also inspect the condition of railway colony during  ongoing ‘ hamsafar  week ‘  across the country. Railway colonies located at Khagaul, Patna Junction , Mughalsarai , Gaya and other places will be the  main centre  for   ECR GM and DRM of the division concerned for visiting the colony areas , he said adding  railways  also urged passengers during interaction to cooperate with railways for smooth running of passenger trains .
