Patna: Patna police on February 2 arrested one Santosh Kumar in connection with an incident of cash loot from two employees of a petrol pump on January 17, 2017. Police also recovered a countrymade pistol, nine live cartridges besides a looted cellphone from the possession of the arrested person, said Patna Senior SP (SSP) Mannu Maharaaj.

Police said that some armed criminals had looted Rs 30,000 cash from manager and a staff of a petrol pump at Vidhipur under Salimpur police station on January 17. Taking serious note of it, the SSP directed Deputy SP, Barh,  and Salimpur ps SHO to crack the case immediately. Acting on the evidences and scientific analysis of the case, a raid was carried out at the house of one Dharmshila Devi, owner of the bike recovered from the spot, located in Railway Colony. The bike owner told police that she had sold this particular bike to one Rahul Kumar of Madhavpur about two years ago.

A police team then raided the house of Rahul Kumar and interrogated him. Rahul told police that he had sold the bike hen to one Rahul Kumar, a native of Naya Tola Bariyarpur, about seven days ago. Police said that due to continuous raids at possible hideouts, two accused in the loot case: Kanhaiya Kumar and Rahul Kumar, surrendered before a local court. Police later took them on remand and interrogated them. Acting on the revelations made by the two accused, police later arrested Santosh Kumar with one countrymade pistol and nine live cartridges.

The SSP said that one more criminal involved in the case is evading arrest and raids were on to arrest him. He said that Santosh was also accused in four other criminals cases lodged with Salimpur ps, Bakhtiyarpur ps and Fatuha ps in Patna rural.
