Motihari :  An NTPC employee Jitendra Singh was shot dead  by two unidentified criminals on August 25, 2019, late night, on the  southern gate of Motihari  railway station in East Champaran District in North Bihar  when he was going to board a train  for Muzaffarpur.

The GRP and  Motihari Town police recovered  a office bag, mobile phone and an Identity Card  from the possession of the deceased, an NTPC personnel posted at Barh, Patna, and a native of village Janerawa under Areraj police station in East Champaran district.

According to railway passengers, two bike borne criminals intercepted Jitendra Singh on the gate of the station  on  Chandmari  Road  and pumped three bullets into his head and chest and fled away. Jitendra Singh fell  on the ground and died on the spot. The  Government Railway Police and  Town police reached the spot but both remained engaged in discussion over jurisdiction issue for nearly 30 minutes.

Murali Manohar Manjhi, SDPO, Motihari, asked the Rail DSP Tanweer Khan  to send the body of deceased for post- mortem. East Champaran SP Upendra Sharma also reached the spot and asked town police to gather information about the incident. The GRP officers said the murder took place under the jurisdiction of Town police but they forced us to take up this case.

Hari Shankar Singh ,father of the deceased reached Motihari on August 26, 2019, morning, and lodged an FIR in connection with the murder of his son with GRP, Motihari. Police suspect Jitendra Singh was killed by hired criminals due to enmity  with someone. The GRP is probing into the incident.
