Buxar : Hundreds of activists of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) and students led by the Bhojpur District General Secretary, NSUI, Vishal Kharwar, burnt the effigy of the District Education Officer (DEO), Buxar, on January 8, 2021, to protest non-payment of scholarship of the ST/ SC, and OBC students for the year 2019-2020.
Speaking on the occasion, Anurag Raj Trivedi, National Organiser, NSUI, said that financial position of the students has worsened during COVID- 19 pandemic yet they are not being paid their scholarship dues. He demanded immediate release of scholarship of the students failing which the students would launch an agitation against the DEO, Later, a delegation met the DEO and submitted a memorandum to him in this connection.
