Bagaha: Notorious gangster Yogendra Mallah alias Yogi Mallah, 52, Jamuna Mallah of village Jaralahiya under Naurangia police station in Bagaha Police District, surrendered before Bagaha SP Arbind Kumar Gupta on July 27, 2018.

Yogendra Mullah was wanted in about 27 heinous cases of murder, kidnapping for ransom, extortion, loot, dacoity under Naurangia, Piparasi, and Laukaria police stations in Bagaha police district besides over a dozen cases were lodged against him in bordering Kushinagar and  Maharajganj districts in Uttar Pradesh (UP) said SP Gupta. He said that Yogendra Mallah was  carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head in Bihar and Rs 20,000 in UP. The gangster had late loose a reign of terror from 1992 to 2005 in the area and after that left had left the crime world and taken shelter in Nepal.

Describing the surrender of Yogendra Mallah as a big  achievement of Bagaha police, SP Gupta said it was the positive sign  that the outlaw, who was eavding arrest for the past several years has decided to join the mainstream of the society.  The SP also appealed to other gangsters to shun violence and join the mainstream. A large number of people had gathered on the campus of the SP office to have a glance at the gangster.
