Samastipur : The Samastipur SP has directed the Town police station Inspector to inquire into the alleged misbehaviour with an Associate Professor  of Samastipur College, Samastipur, S B K Shashi, by three policemen on May 25.

Resentment prevails among the college teachers here as the Samastipur are yet to identify the three policemen who abused their colleague S B K Shashi, an Associate Professor of Hindi at Samastipur College. The car-borne cops who had parked their vehicle  displaying the board of Policemen’s Association on road in the Vivek Bihar area of the town got restive when the professor asked them politely why they had blocked the traffic that way.

The angry cops instead of being apologetic allegedly abused the professor. It would have been worse had some women watching the incident not intervened. The aggrieved professor petitioned to Samastipur Superintendent of Police on the same day mentioning the registration number of the vehicle besides narrating the whole episode. The district president of College Teachers Association S N Tiwary and secretary of Samastipur College Teachers Association Prabhat Kumar have demanded action against the policemen concerned. A meeting was also convened to condemn the incident.
