Patna : Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s May 15, 2017, statement that he is not a PM candidate for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls is intriguing as the opposition parties are yet to discuss the issue and reach a consensus over the name of their candidate for the post.
Nitish’s statement has, however, made it clear that RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s son and deputy CM Tejaswi Yadav will have to wait for his turn to become the chief minister of Bihar. Both Lalu and his wife Rabri Devi are former chief minister of Bihar.
Lalu is one leader who has been pushing the name of Nitish Kumar as the PM candidate of opposition parties forgetting there are several important opposition parties in the country including Congress, NCP, AIADMK, DMK, TMC, BJD, TDP, TRS, CPM and CPI, who too have to approve it.
