Patna: The three – member inquiry commission set up to probe the malpractices in the results of Intermediate examinations conducted by Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) was dissolved by CM Nitish Kumar on Monday. The inquiry commission was headed by retired judge of Patna High Court Ghanshyam Prasad and consisted of a retired district judge G P Srivastva and former IPS officer Mithu Prasad.
The chief minister summoned BSEB chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh and Principal Secretary, education department, Dipak Kumar at his residence. Education minister Ashok Kumar Chaudhury was also present at the meeting. The chief minister reprimanded BSEB chairman Singh for setting up judicial inquiry commission without consulting the state government. BSEB chairman was not competent to set up judicial commission, Singh was told.
He had set up an inquiry commission which was parallel to the three- member inquiry committee set up by education minister on Sunday. The CM ordered immediate dissolution of the judicial inquiry commission set up by the BSEB.
The chief minister also asked DGP P K Thakur to hold indepth investigation into the Inter Exam results scam. FIRs should be filed against the culprits involved in the scam, the chief minister asked DGP.
