Newly married woman’s husband dies on her first Vat Savitri

Giridih :Holy bath on the occasion of ‘Vat Savitri’ cost dearly a newly married woman in Giridih district of Jharkhand as her 22 year old husband died after falling into an under construction village well here he had gone to take bath at village Dudhiyano  under Birni block in Giridih district on Saturday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Pintu Verma, son of Bandhu Mahto.

The incident took place around 11 pm when, Pintu’s newly married wife, Babita, who had just returned home after performing some rituals, asked him to participate in remaining rituals on the occasion of first ‘Vat Savitri puja’ of the couple. Pintu, however, went to take bath at his under construction farming well located in the adjoining field but fell into the well.

“Although, we are yet to get any formal information in this regard, a team of police has been rushed to look into the matter. As soon as we get complete information, we will act accordingly,” said Birni police station incharge Rajive Ranjan. “It was the first such occasion of the couple and we  had decided to celebrate the occasion with all familymembrs and relatives,” said Pintu’s father Bandhu, 60.
