Ara : A newborn girl was found lying unattended in a field at Belaur Bangla under Udwantnagar police station (PS) in Bhojpur district. On getting information, Station House Officer, Udwantnagar PS, brought her to Sadar Hospital, Ara, where she is being treated in the SNCU.

Dr A K Pandey of Sadar Hospital said the condition of the child is better and she is now out of danger. He said she weighed 2.5 kg, a normal weight of a newborn child.

As the news spread, Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Sunita Singh, rushed to Sadar Hospital. She said that someone had thrown the child into the open and she was lying under open sky when it  was raining. She thanked God for saving the child. She said that the child will be sent to Prayas Bharati Trust, Patna, after she recovers. At present, the child is being treated under the supervision of the CWC chairperson. Sunita Singh said that the incident of deserting newborn had increased in Bhojpur district which is a matter of concern.
