Naxalites kill farmer at Bokaro village

Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : More than one  dozen armed guerillas of dreaded Ajay Mahto, Udai Mahto and Santosh Mahto naxalite group killed a 45 year old farmer  Kali Charan Mahto at village Tiskopi under  Gomia   police station in Bokaro district late May 26, 2017, night by slashing  his throat with a sharpedged weapon suspecting him to be police informer due to which  police were getting round the clock reports about naxal activities in Gomia zone. The place of occurrence is about 65 km away from Bokaro Steel City.

Police sources stated that  Kali Charan,a close relative of village Mukhiya, was kidnapped from his home after midnight after which the naxalites slit his throat just 200 meters away from his house. Highly placed sources revealed that the top Maoists of this zone had convened a high level  meeting of the red brigade on May 22, 2017, late night after they came to know that few persons of Tiskopi were  passing important news about their  activities to police  and they started their mission to identify the persons who worked as police informer and zeroed on farmer Kali Charan Mahto.

On May 26, 2017, around 11 pm, two Maoists knocked at the door of Mahto identifying themselves as fellow villagers and once the door was opened, the two armed Maoists pounced on him and kidnapped him. The wife and children of Mahto cried for help but no neighbour rushed to help the farmer as they saw several armed Maoists standing near the house of Mahto.

Though Kali Charan pleaded his innocence and cried for mercy, the Maoists tied his hands and ordered him to keep his mouth shut and carried him to the outskirts of village in deep jungle where his throat was slit. Later, the maoists shouted slogans in favour of their organization and declared that that all the police informers will be punished.

DIG  Saket Singh said that the killing of  farmer clearly proves the barbaric  act of the Maoists who claim that they are  fighting for the cause of poor. “Security forces  are looking for the Maoists  and are carrying operations to nab them,” said the DIG. How can the maoists prove that the poor  farmer was a police informer? he asked.

“Its  very easy to brand anyone a police informe. This shows the real face of  the naxalites who are fast losing their hold in  rural belt,” stated DIG Saket.
