Ara : Chhedi Paswan, a hardcore member of Maoists Communist Centre (MCC) carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head, died on June 23, 2013, after falling from a running train at Ara railway station platform no 2. He was wanted in over dozen criminal cases in Bhojpur, Buxar, Aurangabad and Rohts district. He also ran  his own naxal group Kisan Core Committee (KCC).

SHO, Ara, GRP said that Chhedi Paswan alias Akshya Lal Paswan, 45, son of Manager Paswan of Piro in Bhojpur district, had admitted his wife Usha Devi to a private clinic at Patna and was going to Varuna to his aunt (bua) for taking money for the treatment of his wife but he fell from the train at Ara railway station and died.

Chhedi Paswan was accused in over dozen cases of murder including murder of a BSP leader Millu Chaudhary on April 30, 2016, in Buxar, rangadari, Arms Act, landmines case at Kathrai at Charpokhari in Bhojpur district on July 2, 2016, loot of police arms on May 20, 2016 in Charpokhari.

In a joint operation, Bhojpur and Buxar police had arrested him from his house at Agiaw Bazaar on August 1, 2016, and sent him to jail. At present he was on bail. He was also an accused in attack on the then Bhojpur SP A K Ambedkar at the Gataria bridge in Piro in  2002 and loot of 11 police rifles from the Itadhi police picket in Buxar district in 2007. After this the government had announced a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head. He was arrested at least six times but every time he succeeded in getting bail.
