Nagar Panchayat status to Harnaut

Patna: Harnaut, the home assembly constituency of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar  in  Nalanda district, will be upgraded as a Nagar Panchayat. Nitish had contested his first election from Harnaut  assembly constitutency. The decision to upgrade Harnaut as Nagar Panchayat was taken at the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday.
The Cabinet decided to release Rs 589 crores as industrial incentive to the food processing industry. For mid-day meal scheme, Rs 670 crore was released as state share against expected release of Rs 1,005 crore as central share. In all 21  proposals were approved at the cabient meeting chaired by Nitish Kumar.
