Patna : Top seed Rafael Nadal, 33, Spain, 3rd seed Stan Wawrinka, 34, Switzerland, 5th seed John Isner, 34, USA, 7th seed Grigor Dimitrov, 28, Bulgaria, and unseeded Kwon Soon-woo, South Korea, entered the quarter-finals of Mexican Open, an ATP World Tour 500 outdoor hard courts event at Acapulco, Mexico, on February 27, 2020.

World No 2 & two -time former champion Nadal, who had lost in the 2nd round of the tournament in 2019, beat World No 50 Miomir Kecmanovic, 20, Serbia, 6-2, 7-5 in 1hr 35 minutes in 2nd round to enter QFs. Nadal won break points in the match to 2 by the Serbian. He also won 5 games in a row to 2 by Kecmanovic, who put up a strong fight in second set. Both the players served 3 Aces each in the match. Nadal committed 3 double faults to 2 by the Serbian. The Spaniard, in all, won 64 points to 47 by Kecmanovic.

World No 16 Wawrinka, the winner of three Grand Slam titles, beat World No 113 Pedro Martinez Portero, 22, Spain, 6-4, 6-4 in 90 minutes in second round .Wawrinka won 4 break points in the match to 2 by the Spaniard. Bothe the players won 3 games each in a row in the match. The Swiss fired 9 Aces in the match to 2 by Portero. Wawrinka, in all, won 68 points to 54 by Poetero.

World No 20 John Isner beat World No 115 Marcos Giron, 26, USA, a qualifier, 6-3, 7-6 winning 1 break point and 3 games in a row to enter the QFs. Isner fired 28 Aces in the match to 9 by Giron. Isner has hammered 50 Aces in first two rounds of the tournament. Isner committed 7 double faults to 2 by Giron. Isner, in all, won 76 points to 69 by Giron.

World No 22 Grigor Dimitrov beat World No 42 Adrian Mannarino, 31, France, in a three-set thriller 6-7, 6-2, 7-6 in second round battling back from one set down. Dimotrov won 5 break points in the match to 3 by Amannarino. He won 5 games in a row to 4 by Mannarino. The Bulgarian, in all, won 110 points to 103 by the Frenchman.  Dimitrov will face Wawrinka in QFs.

World No 76 Kwon Soon-woo, 22, South Korea, beat World No 24 & 8th seed Dsan Lajovic, 29, Serbia, 7-6, 6-6 in 2nd round to enter the QFs. kwon won 5 break points to 2 by Lajovic. Kwon won 8 games in row to 2 by the Serbian.
