Patna : Top seed and World No 1 in ATP rankings Rafal Nadal, 32, Spain, and World No 27 Stefanos Tsitsipas, 20, Greece, will clash in the final of Rogers Cup, an ATP Masters 1,000 tournament, at Toronto, Canada, on August 13, 2018.

Tsitsipas has reached his first ATP Masters final. He beat 4 top 10 players including Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic, 31, Serbia,  World No 3 and defending champion Alexander Zverev, 21, Germany, World No 8 Dominic Thiem, 24, Austria, and World No 6 Kevin Anderson, 32, South Africa, to reach the final of Rogers Cup.

Nadal beat unseeded Karen Khachanov, 22, Russia, the World No World 38, in a tough contest 7-6, 6-4 in the semi-finals on August 12. Nadal won 2 break points while Khachanov won 1. Khachanov served 6 Aces while Nadal served just 2 Aces in the match. But, Nadal’s winning percentage on both his first and second serve was better than that of Khachanov. Nadal committed 1 double fault while Khachanov committed 3 double faults. Nadal won 3 games in a row in the match to 2 by Khachanov.

Continuing his giant killing run, unseeded Tsitsipas beat World No 6 Kevin Anderson, South Africa, in a three-set thriller 6-7, 6-4, 7-6 in the other semi-finals. Anderson fired 10 Aces in the match to 7 by Tsitsipas. Anderson’s winning percentage on both his first and second serve was better than that of Tsitsipas, who won 1 break point. Anderson committed 3 double faults to 2 by his rival. Both the players won 3 games in arow.
