Patna : World No 1 in WTA rankings and top seed Simona Halep, 26, Romania, will play World No 3 Sloane Stephens, 25, USA, in final of Rogers Cup at Montreal, Canada, at 11 pm on Agust 12, 2018.
Halep reached Rogers Cup final for the third time in 4 years beating World No 16 Ashleigh Barty, 22, Australia, 6-4, 6-1 in the semi-finals. Barty fired 5 Aces in the match to just 1 by Halep. But, Barty also committed 4 double faults in the match to 1 by Halep. Halep won 5 break points to just 1 by Barty.
Stephens beat World No 5 Elina Svitolina, 23, Ukraine, in the semi-finals 6-3, 6-3. Stephens committed 5 double faults in the match to 2 by Svitolina. Stephens, however, won 5 break points to just 2 Svitolina.
