Muzaffapur Balika Grih sex scandal accused Brajesh removed from Patients’ Welfare Com

Muzaffarpur : Muzaffarpur DM Mohd Sohail on August 2, 2018, night, removed Brajesh Thakur, the main accused in the sexual exploitation of over 34 inmates of Balika Grih, Muzaffapur, a shelter home, from the District Patients’ Welfare Committee.

As a member of this committee, Thakur allegedly weilded considerable influence in hospital administration. Thakur has already been arrested in connection with this sex scandal, which has rocked the state. The CBI is investigating into the sex scandal.

Thakur was Director of Seva Sankalp Evam Vikas Samiti, which was running Muzaffapur Balika Grih since November 2013  under the supervision of State Social Welfare Department, which also funded 90 % of its budget.

The Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD), Bihar Government, on August 2, 2018, cancelled the acceditation of Thakur. The IPRD has also stopped releasing advertisements to the two newspapers owned by Thakur including ‘Pratah Kamal’.
