Saharsa: A mother-daughter duo was thrashed in Mahkhar panchayat under Bakhtiarpur police station in Saharsa district by a fathr-son duo. Rampravesh Sada’s wife Sindula Devi and his daughter were allegedly assaulted by fellow villager Pitambar Yadav and his son Rabin Yadav when they were cutting grass at Tilave Yadav’s farm.

Sindula was initially admitted to Bakhtiarpur sub-divisional hospital where the doctor referred her to Saharsa Sadar hospital in view of her serious condition. Police has recorded the statement of  Sindula and looking into the matter. Sindula, in her statement to police, alleged  that when she and her daughter were cutting grass, Pitambar and his son Rabin reached there and started abusing her saying she had not voted for their neighbour in the panchayat polls. When Sindula  objected to the use of abusive  words, she was baten up. When her daughter came to her rescue, she too was thrashed and her hands and feet were tied with rope. With Sindula and her daughter crying for help, locals reched there and the accused fled away. Bakhtiarpur police station SHO Anil Kumar said the matter was under investigation.
