Patna : Lakshya Sen, 20, India, reached the quarter-finals of Yonex French Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 750 badminton tournament, at Paris, France, on October 28, 2021. Lakshya defeated Loh Kean Yew, 24, Singapore, in straight games 21-17, 21-13 in 40 minutes in 2nd round at Stade Pierre De Coubertin, Paris, France.

Shesar hiren Rhustavito, 27, Indonesia, too reached the quarter-finals of the event on walk-over as his 2nd opponent Sameer Verma, 27, India, retired before the start of the third game. Both the players had won one game each when Sameer Verma retired. Sameer had won the first game 21-16 bu lost the second game 21-12.

Top seed & World No 1 Kento Momota, 27, Japan, also enterd the QFs of the tournament defeating Rasmus Gemke, 24, Denmark, 21-19, 21-18 in 66 minutes 2nd round. Both the players won 5 consecutive points each during the match. Momota won 42 points during the match to 37 by Gemke.
