Patna : Former chief minister Jagannath Mishra on Thursday demanded speedy implementation of Kosi Rehabilitation scheme for the
victims of Kusaha dam breach on August 18, 2008.
Mishra, in a statement here, said Bihar government had prepared a Rs 4,900 crore rehabilitation plan for the flood victims of
Araria, Purnia, Saharsa, Katihar, Madhepura, and Supaul districts where 3.50 lakh houses were destroyed. Over one lakh people became unemployed, he recalled and said Rs 1,000 crore was sanctioned by World  Bank under reconstruction plan. Large number of roads and bridges, which were damaged, need immediate repair, Mishra said and regretted work was very slow.
Mishra urged Bihar CM Nitish kumar to take up Kosi Rehabiltiation plan on priority. Nitish was at Supaul on December 15 for his Nischay Yatra.
