Patna: A Patna Police team on December 15 arrested a liquor supplier Santosh Kumar from Gorakhnath Lane under Kotwali police station. Police also seized seven bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and Rs 72,400 cash from the possession of the arrested person, said Patna Senior SP (SSP) Manu Maharaaj.
Police said that as per the directive of Patna SSP, a special drive has been launched against liquor traders and suppliers. The SSP received inputs that one Santosh Kumar was supplying liquor to some renowned hotels of the state capital. Acting on the directive, a police team along with members of the Technical Cell started tracking the movement of the liquor supplier. The cops received information that Santosh was to supply liquor for a party and a police team comprising SHO, Kotwali ps and members of the0Cell, in civies, tried to contact Santosh, who however, managed to dodge the cops.
Police said that after technical analysis, the cops came to know that Santosh was coming to Gorakhanath Lane with a consignment of liquor. A police team in civies reached there and saw a man, who came on a two-wheeler moving, in a suspicious manner. The cops arrested him and seized liquor bottles from the bag.
The SSP said that the arrested person is a re0sident of Patel Nagar under Sashtrinagar police station. He said that Santosh told police that staff of renonwed hotels used to contact him and he supplied them liquor bottle with price ranging from Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,500 each.
