Ara : A businessman lodged an FIR with Piro police station on August 29, 2018, evening, and also sought security for himself and his family after a miscreant demanded Rs 5 lakh ‘Rangdari’ ( extortion amount) from him on his mobile. The businessman also provided the police with the mobile number from which the call was made to him as well and audio recording of the conversation.
SHO, Piro police station, said that some miscreants demanded Rs 5 lakh from a businessman Pramod Kumar of Piro Bazaar under the police station with a threat to kidnap his son and even kill him and his family members if he failed to pay the extortion amount. He said that police were investigating the matter and added that police in civil dress had been deputed to keep round the clock vigil.
