Patna : Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 5 wickets in the 27th match of IPL 2020 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, UAE, on October 11, 2020, late night, with opener Quinton de Kock scoring 53 in 36 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes and Surayakumar Yadav scoring 53 in 32 balls hitting 6 fours and a six. Ishan Kishan scored 28 runs in 15 balls hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes. Set a target of 163, MI scored 166/5 in 19.4 overs with all-rounder Krunal Pandya hitting the winning four to take his team on top of the points table.

It was MI’s 5th win 7 matches this IPL. For DC, it was their second defeat in 7 matches. Both the team have now 10 points each but MI top the table due to better net run rate.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, DC scored 162/4 in 20 overs with opener Shikhar Dhawan scoring an unbeaten 69 in 52 balls with 6 fours and a six. Shreyas Iyer (captain) scored 42 in 33 balls hitting 5 fours. Opener Prithvi Shaw fell to Trent Boult for 4. Ajinkya Rahane fell to Krunal Pandya for 15. Krunal Pandya also accounted for Iyer. Marcus Stoinis was run out for 13.

MI lost their fist wicket that of opener Rohit Sharma (captain) at 31. Rohit fell to spinner Axar patel for 5 in 12 balls. But, Quinton de Kock and Suryakumar Yadav steadied the innings. Keiron Pollard remained unbeaten on 11 with 1 four while Krunal Pandya remained 12 not out in 7 balls hitting 2 fours.
