Gopalganj: Even after lapse of 40 days of Khajurbanni liquor tragedy, Gopalganj police have failed to arrest the masterminds of the tragedy-Rupesh Shukla alias Pandit and Grahan Pasi. The failure of the district police was a topic of discussion among the lawyers on Tuesday after a local court rejected the bail petitions of the two women accused.

It may be mentioned here that police had arrested one Nagina Choudhary from the premises of the Civil Court on August 19. Choudhary, in his statement, told the police that Pandit, a resident of Jalalpur under Jamo police station in Siwan, and his sister Mana Devi, a native of Harkhua in Gopalganj, were engaged in this trade and several persons had lost their lives after consuming the liquor supplied by them. Though the Gopalganj police have carried out raids at different places in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, they have failed to trace them.
