Criminals demand Rs 20 lakh from Muzaffarpur cloth merchant

Muzaffarpur: Unidentified criminals demanded Rs 20 lakh as extortion amount ( Rangdari) from Sutapatti under Muzaffarpur Sadar police station based cloth merchant Rajesh Chachan on his mobile number on September 27. Rajesh is big cloth merchant of Muzaffarpur. Police are trying to track the caller by examining the call details, said DSP, Town, Ashish Anand. Police are also probing the threatening call made to Muzaffarpur Civil Surgeon Dr Lalita Singh. Dr Singh was threatened with dire consequence allegedly in connection with drug distribution. Police lodged FIRs in both the cases on September 27 evening.
