Married woman killed for dowry at Bhojpur village

Ara: Murder of a married woman has come to light after her father lodged an FIR with the  Town police station, Ara,  on Saturday though no arrest has so far been made in this regard. Jawahar Chaudhary of village Ghosia under Bikramganj police station in Rohtas district told police that his daughter Meera Kumari fell in love with Pintu Chaudhary of Bhaluhipur locality under Town police station in Bhojpur district and also started going on date since 2013. Both the love bird tied nuptial knot at a temple in 2016. The girl married the boy against the wishes of her parents and other family members and so her relation with her family ended with the marriage, Jawahar said. But Pintu and his family members were annoyed as they could not get a single penny as dowry and started torturing her, he alleged adding later her in-laws poisoned her to death and disposed her body in a haste this year. In the meantime, Meera’s father visited Bhaluhipur on Saturday but did not find her. When he queried, the neighbours informed him that the in-laws poisoned her to death few days back, Jawhar alleged.
