Aurangabad:  Seven year after blowing up of a small bridge near village Ketaki under Deo Police Staion in Aurangabad district, police arrested a Maoist Kamat Yadav from village Kusaha under the same police station on Thursday.

A team of Deo police station headed by Station house officer (SHO) Pramod Kumar, on a tip off, conducted raid at  Kusaha and arrested a naxalite who had gone there to meet his relatives. Aurangabad SP Babu Ram said that arrested naxal has identified as Kamat Yadav and had allegedly played an important role in blowing up a small bridge which was a lifeline for the locals. He said that after that incident Kamat was evading arrest though police had been conducting raids at his suspected hideouts.

The SP said Kamat has admitted his involvement in the incident and disclosed many facts which will help police in their drive against naxals. He reiterated his commitment to arrest all top naxalites wanted in several incidents of naxal violence in the district.

Meanwhile, 49 accused in different cases were arrested in an operation. The SP said that separate teams of police have been formed to conduct raids to arrest absconding accused. He warned the SHOs saying that lackadaisical attitude in the matter would invite stern action against officers concerned.
